Digby by GBD 9488 Sandblasted Straight Pot Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates
Out of stock
Description
Digby was a sub-brand made by GBD. GBD itself was founded in 1850 by the French trio Ganneval, Bondier & Donninger, before the brand was bought by English company Oppenheimer at the beginning of the 20th century. Retaining the name, Oppenheimer opened GBD factories in London and Paris to meet an increasing demand for the make’s high-quality and highly desirable pipes.
This particular Digby is an especially craggy, sandblasted version of GBD’s classic, panel-shank pot shape. With a generously wide chamber, the pipe promises to be especially good for mixture cuts.
The condition is good. There’s a fair amount of rim darkening and some wear to the finish on the outermost rim, but the pipe will nonetheless be a reliable workhorse.
