Design Berlin Starline Smooth Bent Brandy Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Description
Design Berlin is, as the name suggests, a German pipe-making company – and is in fact the number two best-selling German pipe make after Vauen. Founded in 1948 as Pfeifenstudio Hartmann by Hubert Hartmann, the company adopted the name Design Berlin and the lowercase ‘db’ logo in 1975 as part of a modernization push.
The Starline was a fairly recent series of pipes from Design Berlin, though one that, like with so many good things, sadly looks to have been discontinued some time ago. As can be seen here, these pipes had light stains, excellent grain (the straight grain patterns on this one are tremendous), golden trims and semi-transparent stems. One very interesting thing about Design Berlin pipes is that, to my knowledge, they are all twin bore, and on the Starline series this bore can be seen when looking at the end of the mouthpiece.
This Starline is also completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating to help ease the break-in process. As with most Design Berlin pipes, it is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but would likely accommodate an adapter of some variety if smoking without a filter is preferred.
