Darnell Old Briar Rusticated Oom Paul Estate Pipe, Unsmoked
Out of stock
Description
While I’m not too sure about the history of the Darnell make, it appears that the pipes were made for export by Gasparini. Gasparini itself is an Italian make, named for its founders Mario and Ida Gasparini, who took up pipe-making all the way back in 1938. Gasparini has remained a family affair since, and Mario and Ida’s daughter Marisa is now at the helm. The Darnell connection makes sense, as I’ve seen many of them also stamped with the letters “M.G.M,” which the Gasparini family also used to designate more traditionally inclined pipe designs.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating.
