Comoy’s Unique Smooth Freehand Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates
Out of stock
Description
Comoy’s is a historic brand in pipe making, and possibly the most historic brand in the making of briar pipes. Though originally founded in 1825 by a French family from Saint Claude, France, production of Comoy’s pipes was soon moved to London, England, where it established itself as one of the quintessential English pipe companies.
No doubt inspired by the Danish fancy movement in post-war pipe-making, Comoy’s made their own freehand pipes for a time as part of the Unique line. This one is a suitably large, straight grain freehand with the occasional patch of spot carving and plateau burl at its rim and shank end.
The condition is very good. Some inner rim darkening and minor handling marks.
