Comoy’s London Pride 291, Smooth Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
Comoy’s is a historic brand in pipe making, and possibly the most historic brand in the making of briar pipes. Though originally founded in 1825 by a French family from Saint Claude, France, production of Comoy’s pipes was soon moved to London, England, where it established itself as one of the quintessential English pipe companies.
This Comoy’s is a classic and lightweight billiard. As evinced by the nomenclature and the three-part ‘C’ inlay in the vulcanite stem, it was produced at some point between the 1950s and 1980s, prior to the merger of Comoy’s with Cadogan Investments. The grain is a nice mix of patterns, especially cross grain, which are brought out by the pipe’s warm brown stain.
The condition is very good. There is some rim darkening and a little charring on the rim’s outer edge, so we’ve adjusted the price accordingly. The stem is without abrasions and the rest of the finish has kept a healthy luster.
