Description
Comoy’s is a historic brand in pipe making, and possibly the most historic brand in the making of briar pipes. Though originally founded in 1825 by a French family from Saint Claude, France, production of Comoy’s pipes was soon moved to London, England, where it established itself as one of the quintessential English pipe companies.
There are few pipe series in the history of English pipes that are as iconic as the Grand Slam. Comoy’s patented stinger system, paired with high quality briar and craftsmanship, made the Grand Slam one of the most recognizable pipes in the 20th century. This pre-1980 (and hence pre-Cadogan Investments merger) Grand Slam has some excellent bird’s-eye grain and is just about as light as a feather, making it an ideal clencher.
The condition is fair. There’s some wear to the rim, including a spot of char, and a few small, superficial scratches around the bowl.
