Comoy’s Grand Slam 186 *7 Smooth Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Description

Comoy’s is a historic brand in pipe making, and possibly the most historic brand in the making of briar pipes. Though originally founded in 1825 by a French family from Saint Claude, France, production of Comoy’s pipes was soon moved to London, England, where it established itself as one of the quintessential English pipe companies.

There are few pipe series in the history of English pipes that are as iconic as the Grand Slam. Comoy’s patented stinger system, paired with high quality briar and craftsmanship, made the Grand Slam one of the most recognizable pipes in the 20th century. This one, produced prior to the Cadogan Investments merger in 1980, has been preserved wonderfully, retaining its famed stinger and even the original leather washer on said stinger. The pipe also has some fantastic flame grain, which is largely free from handling marks that might have accumulated over time. I’m always happy to see pipes that have been treated so well by their previous owners.

As stated, the condition is remarkably good. The finish on the rim is a little faded, but this is purely superficial.
