Description

To call Canada’s Todd Bannard, the artisan behind Briar, Sweat and Tears (BST) pipes, a “cult favorite” would be a profound understatement. Like his fellow countrymen Michael Parks and Julius Vesz, Bannard’s work has demonstrated that, though Canada may have far fewer pipe-makers than its neighbors in the US, Canadian handmades truly are a matter of quality over quantity. Similarly to Parks especially, BST pipes are very difficult to get hold of, as they are snapped up as soon as—and, indeed, often long before—they are available for purchase.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this author from Canada’s Todd Bannard was inspired by Savinelli’s shape 320. Like Castello’s shape 55, the 320 is a genuinely iconic design within Italian pipes, with a good many homages having been made over the decades. Just like the 320, this one features a good, wide chamber, well suited for ribbon and mixture cuts, though unlike most Savinelli pipes, this one has a hand cut ebonite stem, while also being covered in beautiful flame grain.

This pipe is completely unsmoked. It also comes with its original sleeve.
