Description
Here’s an interesting pipe for you – a Betram, named for the famous pipe factory in Washington, DC. Between the 1920s and the 1970s, Bertram sold pipes to America’s political and entertainment stars, and these pipes were renowned both for their quality and for the overwhelming demand they attracted. Catering to such figures as Douglas MacArthur, Edward G. Robinson, and Franklin D Roosevelt, Sydney Betram himself acquired the title of ‘The Nation’s Pipemaker.’
This classic bent billiard appears to have been rusticated in a manner similar to a Custom-Bilt, making it pleasingly tactile. It should make for a good workhorse pipe, while also being an artifact from the good old days of American pipe smoking.
