Ben Wade Standard Smooth Stack Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates
Out of stock
Description
Ben Wade was founded, as might be expected, by Leeds-based English pipe merchant Benjamin Wade in 1860. Soon after, Wade opened his own workshop to produce quintessentially British pipes. As one of the first makes to create pipes from briar, Ben Wade has a special place in pipe history, one only made more special by the famously high-quality of their output.
This Ben Wade is rather curious. Its shape might even be called “Danish,” even though it is not one of the Ben Wades made by Preben Holm or, at the very least, modern Italian. In any case, it’s a very nice pipe, with a tall, stack bowl that should handle flakes like a champ (or indeed any other cut).
The condition is very good. A few worn out fills from natural sandspots, but nothing major.
