Barontini Amaretto Smooth Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates [SOLD OUT]

Description
While not as well known as other Italian pipe brands, Barontini is one of the oldest in the country. Founded in 1890 in Tuscany by Turildo Barontini, the company initially only produced briar, but in 1925, Turildo’s son Bruno shifted the operation to making pipes from this briar. Later, the company was inherited by Cesare Barontini, whose name is most readily associated with Barontini pipe production. Barontini is still operated by Cesare and his wife today.
This Barontini is from the make’s amaretto line, named for the fine Italian liqueur and its bronze hue. It’s a relatively simple design, with the bronze matte stain dressing a traditional English-French full-bent billiard, but there is an elegance to this reserved simplicity. The pipe’s stem is vulcanite, which is quite rare for an Italian pipe, and this combined with the pipe’s relatively light weight makes it an ideal clencher.
The condition is near-mint. It is pre-smoked, but one needs to look closely to really notice this. The previous owner clearly took good care of the pipe, including holding onto its original box and sock, which will be included with it.
