Barling Guinea Grain 6229, Straight Apple Briar Pipe, English Estates [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
Barling was a historic English pipe-making company. It was originally founded by Benjamin Barling in 1812, before the invention of briar pipes, as a company that made meerschaum pipes with exquisite silverwork.
Later, the Barling family would begin to produce high quality briar pipes, which today the brand is most famous for. This pipe, made some time after the brand was bought by Imperial Tobacco in the mid-20th century, is a fine example of a classic English smoking pipe. Its shape is a fairly large straight apple with a saddle stem, and its stain is golden brown, with plenty of bird’s eye grain around the bowl.
