1960s Salon by Sasieni w/ 3 Extra Bowls, Metal Frame Pipe, Unsmoked
Out of stock
Description
Along with names like Barling, Charatan, and Dunhill Sasieni holds a special place in the history of English smoking pipes – one near to its very beginnings. So the story goes, Sasieni himself worked for Dunhill during its early days. But eventually he left Dunhill, having his own ideas about how pipes should be made, and founded Sasieni. This was 1919, and Sasieni has been the closest thing to a household name in English pipes ever since.
Presumably following the successes of makes such as Falcon and Kirsten, Sasieni—at least, for a time—made their own version of a metal frame pipe: the Salon. Like the Falcon and the Kirsten, the pipe is comprised of a threaded bowl (in this instance, briar), an aluminum frame, and an ebonite mouthpiece. This one comes as a set, with three extra bowls, making for just about the easiest rotation possible.
This pipe, and its extra bowls, is completely unsmoked, with original bowl coatings. It also comes with its original boxes.
