Dunhill 1991 Bruyere Classic Series 107 Apple (3005) Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked
Out of stock
Description
To veteran pipe smokers, Dunhill needs no introduction. Beginning in 1907, Alfred Dunhill began selling Dunhill pipes at the tobacconist shop he owned on London’s Duke Street. Very quickly, these pipes gained the reputation of being the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of pipes due to how expertly crafted they were. Today, Dunhill is likely Britain’s most famous pipe manufacturer, and continues to produce some of the most treasured pipes a smoker can buy.
Released in limited quantities in the early 1990s, the Dunhill Classic Series was one intended to celebrate both the company’s enduring, almost unrivaled position at the forefront of English pipe making luxury, along with the designs that helped Dunhill make it what it was—and continues to be. Put plainly, it was a short-run re-release of Dunhill pipe shapes not seen since its earliest decades, as a way of commemorating the legacy that followed in their wake. Hence, despite being a 1991 make (i.e., one produced after the introduction of Dunhill’s modern, four-digit shape codes) this Dunhill is a shape 107 apple, as seen in some of the company’s earliest catalogs, dressed in the same ruby-hued stain of the early Bruyere It is furthermore adorned with a gold plated collar engraved with the name of the series.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It comes with its original box (slightly scuffed but nonetheless intact), leather sleeve, and certificate of authenticity with the serial number of the pipe.
