Peterson 2024 Christmas Pipe X105 Sandblasted Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Irish Estates
Out of stock
Description
Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.
I’ve said it before several times, but I’ll say it again for good measure: Peterson’s Christmas pipes have been a genuine treat over the last few years, and have included some of my favorite new designs in what seems like forever. And two that I really liked were the 2022 and 2024 releases. Both featured elegant copper mountings, with the 2024, seen here, also featuring the same cumberland-style acrylic seen on the Irish Harp line (another of my personal favorites). This is one of the sandblast models, rendered in a copper spigot version of Peterson’s X105 billiard, and though the lighting doesn’t quite capture it, even with its obsidian stain, the bowl shows off plenty of ring grain.
The condition is excellent. Smoked once or twice, no more.
