Peterson Trinity 268 Sandblasted Zulu Estate Briar Pipe, Irish Estates

Description
Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.
Paying homage to Ireland’s Trinity College, Dublin, Peterson’s Trinity was a short-lived line that, if memory serves, debuted about two decades ago, and was largely distributed to the European market. This is quite unfortunate for us here in the States, as they were, and still are, fantastic pipes. This ring grain sandblast Zulu is one of the most stunning Petes I’ve had in recently, and I’ve had some pretty good Petes in during the last few months. I especially like the smooth finish, beveled rim, which adds a nice bit of contrast to the obsidian and silver hues of the rest of the pipe. It’s a genuine featherweight, too.
The condition is great, too. Very minor inner rim darkening and the join between stem and shank is ever so slightly uneven, but nothing major.
