Savinelli Club 614 Sandblasted Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
While relatively unassuming in appearance, Savinelli’s “Club” line featured something incredibly rare for a Savinelli pipe: genuine cumberland stems. It is a curious fact that, in contrast to most of the rest of the world, high-quality Italian pipes tend to be made with acrylic (typically Lucite) stems, and for the most part, Savinelli is no different. The Club line has been discontinued for years, but while it was available, it was a refreshing change of pace—especially as they were also paired with silver mounts.
The condition is great. Some very minor, inner rim darkening, but nothing major at all that I can see. The pipe is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but will smoke just as well without one.
