Savinelli Estella 803 EX Rusticated Lumberman Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
The Estella is a genuine cult classic within the Savinelli catalog, one that is only more so for being briefly produced many decades ago. It was, as seen on this example, a rusticated line whose finish is somewhere between the granular approach of Castello’s Sea Rock and Caminetto’s “wax drip” New Dear lines. This one is an even more uncommon example of a “traditional” shape Estella—albeit an extra large (EX) one— taking the form of a Savinelli’s classic 803 lumberman.
The condition is very good. Some rim darkening and slight handling marks.
