Caminetto Business Silver Mount Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
Caminetto was, and is to this day, a decisive figure in the history of Italy’s pipe workshop tradition. After spending time developing their skills in the Castello workshop, Sergio Ascorti and Luigi Radice left to found their own venture, which they named, ‘Caminetto.’ Here, Ascorti and Radice were able to create their own now-classic shapes and finishes, such as the rusticated ‘Business,’ and the carved, wax-drip ‘New Dear.’
Caminetto’s Business finish is the workshop’s interpretation of a firmly cemented Italian tradition: pebble-dash rusticated finishes. Unlike the pipes of certain other nations, rustication in Italy is a big deal, with high-grade pipes being meticulously hand-carved to create visually appealing and enjoyably tactile works. This Caminetto, for example, is dressed in the Business rustication, a close descendant of the Sea Rock finishes of the Castello workshop, with its sharp, granular texture paired with a sterling silver faux spigot mount.
The condition is great. Some inner rim darkening.
