MBSD Deluxe Silver Meerschaum Panel Swan Block Meerschaum Pipe, Briar-Mortise

After the success of our MBSD Deluxe meerschaum pipes, which feature a patented Briar-Mortise system for extra durability, we’ve been developing additional series to offer an even greater range of meers for our customers. One of these series is the Deluxe Silver, which features a mortise strengthened both by briar on the interior, and sterling silver on the exterior. These pipes might be thought of as army mount or spigot mount pipes (depending on the design), with even more of a guarantee to their longevity. Better still, these pipes are made from the same high-grade, fast-coloring meerschaum as our Deluxe and Silver series.

There is something about birds that just makes them excellent sources of inspiration when it comes to pipe design. And it is the swan that has captivated pipe-makers more than any other avian species. It is a recurring motif for both the English and the Danish traditions, with this particular Deluxe Silver meerschaum following in the footsteps of the latter, as represented by carvers such as Sven Knudsen, Former, and Erik Nording. This one is a little different, though, keeping the swan’s side profile while having a faceted bowl and its “wings” tucked away behind two rusticated side panels. It is also an army mount design in the traditional style.
