Design Berlin Strassbourg Smooth Bent Rhodesian Estate Briar Pipe Unsmoked, 9mm

Description
Design Berlin is, as the name suggests, a German pipe-making company – and is in fact the second best-selling German pipe make after Vauen. Founded in 1948 as Pfeifenstudio Hartmann by Hubert Hartmann, the company adopted the name Design Berlin and the lowercase ‘db’ logo in 1975 as part of a modernization push.
This particular Design Berlin comes from the Strassbourg series, a limited edition series from several years back. As can be seen here, the series combined a light brown, almost strawberry blonde, finish with a smoky acrylic accent and a black acrylic stem. This one is a mixture of design elements from the Rhodesian and horn shapes, in a way reminiscent of some of Stanwell’s pipes (particularly those of Jess Chonowitsch). As a Design Berlin pipe, the stem features a twin bore system, much like Radice and Comoy’s have done at one point or another.
This limited edition Design Berlin is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease the break-in process. It is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but may accommodate an adapter of some variety.
