Savinelli Oscar Tiger 603 Rusticated Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
I’m not usually one for colorful pipes, but I’m very partial to Savinelli’s Oscar Tiger. It combines a near-black, tree-bark rustication with a smooth, natural finish rim, along with a black and amber-toned stem to add an extra dash of old-world color. Given the old-world aesthetic, it’s fitting that this one is a highly traditional bent billiard, including having a beveled inner rim.
The condition is great. There’s some minor rim darkening, but nothing major. As with many Savinelli pipes, this one comes chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s balsa filters. It can, however, be smoked without one just as well.
