BBB Turnberry 320 Sitter Brandy Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Description
‘BBB’ originally stood for ‘Blumfeld’s Best Briars’, so named after Louis Blumfeld after he took over the historic Alfred Frankenau Company in 1856. Later, the pipes came to be known as ‘Britain’s Best Briars’. Though the name might have changed, the quality of the pipes did not – they really were fantastic pipes, made in the classic style of the English-French shape chart. Like GBD, Dunhill, and Barling’s, BBB are pipes with a rich history behind them, proudly holding the title of “the oldest trade mark in the [pipe] industry.”
This particular BBB is a beautiful example of the make’s Turnberry series. As the series is long-discontinued, I’m not quite sure what its name referred to to, as there are several places in the UK with that name, including the ancient Turnberry castle in Scotland. In this instance it may have been something of a pun, given that the pipe wears an ornate, engine-turned sterling silver collar. In any case, the pipe is a traditional, bent billiard in the English style, with excellent flame grain patterns, a black vulcanite stem, and of course, the aforementioned silver trim.
This BBB is also completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first uses. It also comes with its original box.
