Peterson Amber Spigot 120 Smooth Dublin Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked [SOLD]

Description
Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.
Peterson’s Amber Spigot pipes are among its rarest and most sought-after high-grade creations. The story goes that, in 2016, Peterson discovered a box in a forgotten corner of their warehouses, containing unused stems of genuine amber that had been used for certain Peterson pipes in the early 19th century. Not wanting to let a good thing go to waste, Peterson used this small supply of amber stems to create a small number of pipes, using their best stummels and spigots of sterling silver.
This Amber Spigot is not only dressed in Peterson’s highest-of-the-high-grade natural finish, but it is somehow completely unsmoked, and includes its original box and sock. The pipe furthermore has its factory-original bowl coating for helping the break-in process when the pipe ultimately is smoked.
Please note that as amber is a fairly brittle material, we advise that smokers do not bite down on or clench the amber stem while in use. The pipe also comes with its original second stem, made of acrylic.
