It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Miele series a secret of sorts within its chamber. While the bowl walls on some pipes are coated with a carbon compound to help ease the break-in process, the Miele has been treated with a honey extract to create the same effect, but a little sweeter. This apian theme is extended by the pipe’s honey-hued stem. This particular Miele has its golden stem paired with a natural finish, which showcases some very beautiful straight grain and bird’s-eye patterns.

The condition is excellent. There’s a tiny bit of darkening on the inner lip of the pipe’s beveled rim, but it is very minor indeed. The pipe also comes with its original sleeve. It is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but can be smoked just as well without one, if its next owner prefers.
