Description

Michel pipes were store-brand pipes made for Maison Michel, a North Carolina (USA) tobacconist run by Michel J. Mitchell between 1951 and 1980. Over the years, several prominent pipe-makers made pipes for Maison Michel, such as Charatan, Barling, and others.

This Michel Natural is a wonderfully lightweight Canadian, coming in at around just 32 grams. It wears a simple, natural (hence the name) finish that lets the underlying grain patterns sing, with bird’s-eye covering the bowl. There are one or two worn out fills, but you have to really go looking for them to find them.
