Nathan Armentrout Sandblasted Apple Handmade Briar Pipe, New [SOLD]

Out of stock

Description

Originally a science teacher in California, Nathan Armentrout began making pipes in 2009 and has since emerged as one of North America’s most talented, high-grade artisan pipe-makers. Inspired by Denmark’s legendary carvers, Nathan’s designs continue the legacy of the Danish pipe-making movement into the present day and expand that legacy through his own unique interpretations of the masters of old.

The bent apple is one of the all-time classic shapes in Danish pipe design. Of course, the Danes, being the Danes, had their own distinct way of doing it, and Danish-influenced carvers like Nathan Armentrout have their own ways, too. This Armentrout shows the squat, slightly bulbous, proportions of the archetypal Danish apple, along with its soft, swelling curvature, but it adds a more subdued color palette to the shape, combining a burnt sienna contrast sandblast with a walnut swirl ebonite stem.

The condition is great – as it’s fresh from Nathan’s shop.
