Vauen 6802 Smooth Bent Rhodesian Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.
This Vauen is a particulary beautiful Rhodesian shape from a discontinued past series. It’s a little thicker and wider than Rhodesians typically are – which tends to be the case for German pipes – and it has some excellent flame grain, highlighted by a fairly light, glossy, orange-brown stain. Curiously, this Vauen also has an original, P-lip style stem, which the make used to offer on some of its pipes.
The pipe is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help with the break-in process. It also comes with its original box and sleeve. The pipe is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but may accommodate an adapter of some kind, if its owner wishes to use it without one.
