Savinelli Punto Oro Corallo Rusticated Straight Apple Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
There are few pipes in Savinelli’s catalog – old and new – that are as sought after as the Punto Oro in the Corallo di Mare finish. It might best be compared to Dunhill’s Tanshell line; both employ a virgin briar finish with very minimal staining, which over time, much like a meerschaum pipe, develops a bronze patina; both are rare, though the Punto Oro Corallo is rarer, being a subset of the Punto Oro line, rather than a line unto itself; and both often have pipe-smokers jumping over each other to get one. While the Tanshell is sandblasted, however, the Punto Oro Corallo is rusticated in the manner of sea coral, as the name suggests.
While I can’t quite make out the shape number on this Punto Oro, it looks to be Savinelli’s shape 207 straight apple. It’s a nice, lightweight pipe, and almost certainly an easy clencher. Even better, this one is remarkably little used, meaning its next owner will have the chance to watch it develop its patina over time. There’s a little bit of inner rim darkening, but its superficial, and should fade from view as the briar naturally darkens with use. The pipe’s vulcanite stem is also near-mint.
