Description

Papa Bear Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.

This bent egg from Tim Beaumont is absolutely delightful! It has a nice, full bowl, perched on the end of a sweeping curve effected by the shank and stem. The bowl itself is partially rusticated, with some wonderfully tactile ring carvings around it, but the top of the bowl has been left smooth, giving it an almost cap-like appearance. The design reminds me a little of the Italian high-grade make Ardor, but Beaumont’s pipe is more colorful. The choice of a swirling mint-green lucite stem is a bold one, but I think its combination with the warm, red-brown stain of the bowl works very well indeed.

Another thing I like about this pipe is its weight. At 45 grams, it is not especially heavy, and its bent design should make it comfortable enough to clench.
